• South Whidbey Rotary, to help prepare the island residents for a natural disaster, is offering a compact survival kit.
• The kit contains items for survival, first aid, and personal hygiene, and is the same as that recommended by the Boeing Company to its employees.

South Whidbey Rotary started PREP (Personal Response Emergency Plan) to:

• Prepare individuals to survive, care, and protect themselves, their families and their neighbors in the event of a natural disaster.
  
• Facilitate the rebuilding of our community after the basic survival needs are met.
  
• Educate and assist the residents of Whidbey Island about the risks of a disaster.
  
• Encourage the development of personal response plans.
  
• Facilitate assistance to the broader community in bringing normalcy to the island after a disaster has struck.
